Flash Player End of Support
According to a statement issued by Adobe, the company intends to continue to support the Flash Player product until the end of 2021, after which no updates will be provided for this product. The company has also asked users to remove this software if possible and as soon as possible.
Flash Player software is a browser-based program that can run interactive and rich programs, as well as display video in all browsers and operating systems. For example, many E-Learning applications use Flash Player. Due to the prevalence of coronavirus and the increasing use of these tools, there will be serious risks for users.
Browser makers are scheduled to remove the actual code that supports Flash from their browser codebases prior or after the EOL, in late 2020, early 2021.
Over the past few years, this software has been constantly attacked by attackers and many vulnerabilities have been discovered on it. The lack of support for this software since the end of 2021 means that security vulnerabilities will not be fixed and users who use it will be at risk.
